Gov. Deal to Proclaim “Vietnam Veterans Day in Georgia”

Governor Nathan Deal will pay tribute to Vietnam veterans and the 40th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Vietnam this Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 11  a.m., inside the State Capitol with the presentation of the state’s proclamation. 

Governor Deal will be joined by Department of Veterans Service Commissioner Pete Wheeler, Vietnam Veterans of America Georgia State Council President Spence Davis, and representatives of Georgia’s Veteran Service Organizations. 

This will be Governor Deal’s third consecutive year gathering with Commissioner Wheeler, members of the Vietnam Veterans of America – Georgia State Council, and other Veteran Service Organizations in Georgia recognizing Vietnam veterans. Governor Deal served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
