Join us for the annual "Veterans Day in Georgia" proclamation signing ceremony, featuring Governor Brian Kemp.

The event, which will be held in the North Wing of the State Capitol Building, will feature a keynote speech from Governor Kemp and remarks from Major General Tom Carden, the Adjutant General of Georgia.

All attending veterans will be invited to join a group photo with Governor Kemp and GDVS Commissioner Mike Roby.

Historical note: In 1954, the 83rd Congress of the United State renamed the federal holiday then known as Armistice Day (originally honoring veterans of World War I) as Veterans Day to honor veterans of all conflicts. The State of Georgia has hosted a Veterans Day in Georgia proclamation ceremony every year since 1954.
