Temporary Office Closings due to Hurricane Michael

Ahead of Hurricane Michael, Governor Deal declared a state of emergency for 92 Georgia counties.

Several GDVS offices will be closed on October 10-11 due to hazardous weather.

This includes our Albany, Americus, Athens, Augusta, Bainbridge, Brunswick, Columbus, Cordele, Douglas, Dublin, Hinesville, Glennville, Greensboro, Griffin, LaGrange, Lyons, Macon, Milledgeville, Moultrie, Savannah, St. Marys, Statesboro, Thomasville, Tifton, Valdosta, Warner Robins, Washington, Waycross, and Waynesboro offices.

This also includes our veterans memorial cemeteries in Milledgeville and Glennville. 

Operations at our veterans nursing homes in Milledgeville and Augusta will continue as usual. Our staff is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and health of our residents.

Additional GDVS offices in the affected area will close if conditions deteriorate. These offices are anticipated to reopen on Friday, October 12.
