The Georgia Department of Veterans Service recently selected Georgia native and Air Force retiree Vince Pritchett as Director of Veterans Benefits South Region.

“We are excited to have someone with Vince’s knowledge and experience to lead our south regional offices,” said GDVS Commissioner Mike Roby. “He brings a new perspective and management style to the south region.”

Pritchett grew up in Calhoun and began his Air Force career in 1979 as a personnel specialist. After his first enlistment, he cross trained into Air Traffic and spent his remaining years as an air traffic controller. While serving, he also attended the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated in 1992 with a degree in Business Management.

Retiring from the Air Force after a 24 year career in 2003, Pritchett joined the Georgia Department of Veterans Service as a Veterans Field Service Officer in Macon.

Pritchett later transferred to the Warner Robins office to take over as office manager.

“I am honored to be entrusted with this position and I intend to continue the legacy left before me,” said Pritchett.

Pritchett has been happily married to Patricia A. Barnes for 37 years. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.

Offices in the south region include Albany, Americus, Bainbridge, Brunswick, Columbus, Cordele, Douglas, Dublin, Glennville, Hinesville, Lyons, Macon, Moultrie, Savannah, St. Marys, Statesboro, Swainsboro, Thomasville, Tifton, Valdosta, Warner Robins, and Waycross.
