UPDATE:

The Georgia Department of Veterans Service will also postpone a ceremony scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 14 in Kingsland.

The health and safety of Georgia’s veterans is of the utmost importance to us.

As a precautionary measure due to the recent outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), following guidance from the CDC and the State of Georgia, the GDVS will postpone all upcoming Korean and Vietnam Certificate of Honor ceremonies.

This includes ceremonies to be held on March 26 at American Legion Post 77 in Conyers, March 31 at the Atlanta VA Clinic in Decatur, and April 9 at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church in Silver Creek.

All ceremonies will be rescheduled in the future. Veterans who have signed up for one of these ceremonies will be notified once a new date has been scheduled. The GDVS will maintain a secure copy of all applications until the ceremonies have been rescheduled.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing you at a future ceremony.

Thank you for your understanding.

For more information about the postponements, please contact the GDVS Public Information Division at [email protected] or 404-656-5933.

Sincerely,
Mike Roby
Georgia Commissioner of Veterans Service
